The Purple Punch
She is a cross of two great strains. The first is our Grandaddy Purple. Known for its potent effects, I am high. It is also visually a beauty and impresses with its complex taste of grapes and berries.
The second is Larry OG, which has a very good reputation in the United States. We got a wonderful clone from a friend of ours, which we used to cross the Purple Punch. The Larry OG is a cross between OG Kush and its San Fernando Valley OG phenotype. She, too, is known for her pleasant physical high.
The amalgamation of these two strains combines the best of their parents in a single plant. The Purple Punch shines with its purple hue and delicious fruity notes. It also has a high resin production and a short flowering time.
As well as being a delightful strain, Purple Punch is a joy to cultivate. Thanks to her Kush genes, she is very robust and resilient and therefore suitable for beginners without restrictions. By using the feminized seeds from Seeds66, there is no need to sort out male specimens, as all seeds only produce female plants.
The growth of the Purple Punch
Like all other Kush strains, Purple Punch grows very compactly. The stocky stature of the plant allows you to grow it even in low rooms. Its strong branches can support the large buds without support. If the buds get too fat, we recommend pruning the leaves a little. Everything with measure and aim is understood. Use enough fans in the flowering phase to prevent moist air from trapping in the foliage.
At the end of the flowering period, the Purple Punch shows its true strength. An incredibly thick layer of resin covers the flowers and gives the look as if they had been sprinkled with powdered sugar. As the temperatures drop in autumn, it gradually transforms into a purple resin monster. However, in some grow tents, too, the color occurs in the last 3 weeks of flowering.
The flowering period is very short at around 8 weeks and the yields are very high. Up to 650 grams per square meter are not uncommon. These yields are achieved by using hydro systems in combination with the SoG (Seas of Green) method. Please make sure to keep the humidity in the last weeks of flowering at approx. 50%. To optimize the buds, a flower booster can be given 2 weeks before harvest, before you only water with pure water.
The Purple Punch also cuts a fine figure in the garden. In warm and Mediterranean areas, yields of up to 2 kg per plant have been achieved. In northern areas this yield is of course lower, but in a particularly sunny place it can still go up to 1500 grams per plant. The harvest usually takes place at the end of September.
Scent and taste of the Purple Punch
As for the fragrance and flavor profile of the Purple Punch, it will likely become your favorite strain soon. Like an apple pie with a caramel crust, accompanied by an aroma that is reminiscent of a mixture of grapes, berries and pineapple. This mixture makes it a real taste explosion.
The effect of the Purple Punch
The effect of the Purple Punch is very relaxing and calming. For an Indica dominant strain (90% Indica - 10% Sativa) this effect is actually quite normal. Those deep indica genes make this strain perfect for relaxing. It is therefore recommended for use in the evening. After a stressful day at work, the Purple Puch is just the thing. Stress and worries subside immediately after the first drag and you can relax comfortably on the sofa.
Medicinal effect
Due to its sedating effect, the Purple Punch helps with sleep problems, stress, depression and anxiety. It also offers anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. That is why it can also be used for pain such as migraines, muscle cramps and rheumatism.
It also helps with sleep problems and tension. It can stimulate appetite and help with nausea.
