Acapulco Gold is a legendary marijuana strain from Acapulco (Mexico). Cultivated in Central America since 1965, it is considered one of the best marijuana strains to ever see the light of day. She has also won several Cannabis Cups. She is an "old school strain" in the truest sense of the word.
The growth of Acapulco Gold
This sativa-dominant strain can grow very tall, reaching 130 centimeters indoors. 2.5 meters is not uncommon when grown outdoors. Its structure resembles an oversized Christmas tree. She produces lots of leaves despite delivering an excellent calyx-to-leaf ratio.
Since the plant is well branched, it is suitable for intensive grow systems such as Screen of Green (ScrOG). Regardless of the cultivation method chosen, due to the weight of the buds, we recommend supporting them at the end of the flowering period.
Not the easiest to grow, she belongs in the hands of experienced growers. The flowering time of around 10 weeks is typical for an old-school sativa strain. Outdoor yields are around 1500 grams per plant. Despite only being ready to harvest very late, this strain is quite resistant to fungus and mould, significantly reducing the effects of autumn rains.
Acapulco Gold is highly productive, producing up to 650 grams per square meter of beautiful buds that look like gold nuggets due to their orange pistils and are also coated in a thick layer of resin. The high yields make this strain one of the favorites of commercial growers.
