The Shogun is a cross between two well-known strains. First, we have Amnesia Haze, known for its huge yields and powerful effects. The second parent is Gorilla Glue #4 with its extreme resin production and also extremely high THC levels.
The result is Royal Queen Seeds' new strain Shogun, which combines the best of both worlds.
The Growth of the Shogun
Like all sativa-dominant strains, Shogun is hungry for the right dose of quality fertilizer. This does not mean the growth phase, but the flowering phase. Yields can still be optimized when rearing in hydro systems.
The flowering time is typical for sativa at 9 - 11 weeks, which also maximizes the yield. You can expect harvests of up to 600 grams per square meter indoors. Depending on the size of the pot and the space available, the Shogun grows between 90 and 140 centimeters high.
Grown outdoors the harvest time is not until the end of October which makes her not an ideal strain in central Europe. This strain is only recommended outdoors in southern Europe. The yield outside is about 650 - 750 grams per plant.
The Effect of the Shogun
As a sativa-dominant hybrid, the effect is fresh, clear, and energizing. A perfect daytime and morning strain. However, one should not disregard the THC content of 25%, which provides a rather powerful "high". Like all "high-THC strains" it is often used in pain therapy.
Smell and taste of the Shogun
The Shogun tastes like a whole forest. An earthy Artoma with a taste of pine and a delicate lemon aroma that rounds off this strain.
