The sativa beast... Dutch Dragon is an award-winning original strain and continues to enjoy great popularity thanks to its huge harvest potential. This plant has its roots on the African continent, with the original genetics finding their way from Swaziland to Europe a few years ago. A potent plant that is praised for its power. This fiery (yet easy-going) sativa was crossed with Dutch varieties to make it a reliable, richly rewarding plant. As a strong, elongated plant, it is very much in the tradition of good sativas, but still has a surprisingly bushy growth pattern. It is a very high-yielding Variety that will grow rampantly if you let it.
Dutch Dragon is one of the original Paradise Seeds varieties developed in the 1990s (and genetically improved even further a decade later). This Variety is like a powerhouse and a cosmopolitan mix of genetics from three continents. Under the bonnet is a raging African sativa engine, known for its powerful acceleration of effect and sweet citrusy flavour. To curb her appetite for unbridled growth, this genetic melting pot also contains Skunk and Indian parent genetics.
The growth of Dutch Dragon
Indoor: Dutch Dragon has a large following among growers of feminised indoor seeds. Due to its natural tendency to stretch towards the light (whether artificial or natural), this beast can be a challenge if your growing space is very limited in height, but it can also be tamed relatively easily using suitable training methods. If the indoor area is large enough for the beast to really let off steam, the result will be fast and vigorous growth, which will later lead to large quantities of flowers.
Outdoor: This is a great Variety for novice outdoor growers, especially those who want to ply their horticultural trade in the southern hemisphere. A Mediterranean climate and sunshine are the right factors for the plants to grow into mighty bushes (we have seen some as tall as three metres). The key to success lies in the genes! In the northern regions of the planet, Dutch Dragon must be left outside until mid-October before harvesting.
Dutch Dragon cannabis seeds produce a sativa plant that is known for its fat, long, resinous buds, which swell particularly strongly if left for an extra week at the end of the flowering phase. As with many Paradise Varieties, the buds are surprisingly dense, sticky and look super frosty with trichomes.
Dutch Dragon cannabis seeds are suitable for outdoor cultivation between 50º n. B. and 50º S. B. suitable. The plants are ready for harvest in mid-October (N. B.) and can be harvested indoors after 9-10 weeks. The yield indoors is approx. 500 grams/m², outdoors up to 1000 grams/plant.
The effect of the Dutch Dragon
Pleasure orientated: Growers looking for a classic sativa with high performance can end their search right here. Dutch Dragon is an uncompromising classic with traditional Sativa qualities. It shoots a highly charged bolt of energy that is uplifting and allows the consumer to soar into the clouds on the wings of the dragon. A great Variety for daytime consumption, but also perfect as a companion for nightlife excursions.
Medicinal: The uplifting sativa effect and accompanying energy boost is very popular with medicinal users looking to dispel dark mental clouds. And caryophyllene is known for its pain-relieving characteristics.
The smell and flavour of Dutch Dragon
In the grow room, this Variety makes no secret of its strong limonene and caryophyllene terpene profile; in the flowering phase, the air is filled with a strong sweet citrus scent. The dried buds retain their sweet and fruity flavour, now with slightly softer citrus notes - they taste more like juicy mandarins than sour lemons.
