The research and development team at Paradise Seeds had been looking for an indica hybrid with unique qualities, and Californian Gold is just that! This Variety took a trip down memory lane, as it was released to celebrate legalisation in the Golden State, selecting classic old-school Californian genetics that were turbocharged to create something very special.
This Variety is the result of combining various old-school genetics from the Paradise Seeds archive. Californian Gold cannabis seeds carry genes from a female Afghani and a male, developed through the in-house Paradise breeding programme and incorporating elements of an original US Skunk and a South Asian Indica. The result is a heavyweight indica whose weight can be weighed in gold.
The growth of Californian Gold
Indoor: Californian Gold also lives up to its name when it comes to growing; it is an uncomplicated choice for any indoor setup. It is simply a joy to grow, a bushy, robust plant with strong branches and large leaves. This plant also pulls out all the stops in terms of yield, smell and flavour. Its medium size makes it a good companion for indoor growers, especially where height can be a problem. Its fast flowering time and reliable yields are two other qualities that make this Variety worth recommending. It produces characteristically large, compact buds from which the resin literally oozes out.
Outdoor: In the garden, Californian Gold naturally thrives best in warm climates, where the sun makes those characteristically large buds really swell. But thanks to its hybrid nature, this plant can also adapt well to the cooler climates of more northern regions.
This plant has a typical Indica growth habit - thick and bushy. It matures relatively quickly. The exceptionally oily nature of the chunky Californian Gold buds is due to the genetic composition of this strain and the fact that it incorporates the legendary hash-making qualities of the Indian subcontinent. As the flowering phase draws to a close, it often looks as if honey is flowing out of the resin-dripping buds.
Californian Gold is suitable for outdoor cultivation between 50º n. B. and 50º s. B. and is ready for harvest outdoors (N. B.) in early to mid-October, indoors within 8 - 9 weeks of flowering. The yield indoors is approx. 500 grams/m², outdoors up to 750 grams/plant.
