The growth of Purple Bud Automatic
Purple Bud Automatic cannabis seeds feature genetics from two premium Afghani hash plants. This heritage is evident in the compact shape and fast flowering of Purple Bud Automatic. However, it is not a pure Indica variety. The Jamaican makes for a Purple Bud with 25 % sativa genetics and the ruderalis genes help it to flower on its own. Due to the sativa component, the plants grow a little taller than the average indica. When fully grown, they reach around 90 to 140 centimetres.
Cultivation usually takes around 14 weeks in total. The flowering phase lasts 8 to 10 weeks. As with all autoflowering varieties, growers can benefit from substantial yields without too much effort or experience.
The buds of Purple Bud Auto are initially visible as pointed calyxes around the bracts and nodes on the upper branches and stem. These buds then become larger, more abundant and denser. In the last weeks of flowering, the buds join together and form flower clusters.
Due to the nature of autoflowering cannabis plants, yields are usually slightly lower than regular or feminized varieties. Most growers see this as a fair trade-off for the ease of cultivation and the ability to grow the plants in a colder climate.
