Pineapple Express by Barneys Farm is a sativa-dominant hybrid from a cross between a Hawaiian landrace sativa and the well-known Trainwreck. She combines a rich taste of ripe pineapple with very high yields and a handsome THC level. All in all a strain as you would expect from Barneys Farm that invariably produces top quality seeds.
Cultivation and growth of the Pineapple Express
She is a very easy strain to grow and extremely resistant to mold and disease. It has high mold resistance from the Hawaiian landrace sativa. (Landrace strains are unmodified naturally grown hemp strains)
She grows creamy shades of green and reaches between 120 and 140 centimeters tall indoors in a grow tent. At the end of the flowering period, the flowers are completely covered with resin and you can already smell the typical pineapple smell at this stage. The flowering time is between 8 and 9 weeks indoors, which is very short for a sativa dominant strain. The yield is very high indoors, ranging from 600 to 700 grams per square meter.
Cultivated outdoors, she can reach over 2 meters tall and Barneys Farm reports a yield of 1500 to 2000 grams per plant. Harvest time for this variety is mid-October.
Effect of the Pineapple Express
It delivers a dynamic energy boost that is immediately very stimulating and gets you ready for many underground activities. After some time, the slight indica part of this strain also kicks in, delivering a pleasant calming effect. But this is not intrusive or tiring. The effect is strong and the THC content of around 25% is clearly noticeable.
