Moroccan Beldia Kif is a traditional hashish plant from the Rif region near Ketama and Chefchaouen, famous for the production of Kif (the traditional mixture of cannabis flowers with tobacco) and the famous Moroccan blonde hashish.
This pure Moroccan variety is one of the fastest psychoactive sativa landraces in the world, due to its semi-autoflowering characteristics and very short flowering time. Traditionally, this variety is sown at the beginning of spring, starts flowering in June and is harvested as early as August, when it is processed and hand-hammered to produce traditional Moroccan hashish, the quality of which varies depending on the size of the sieve and the duration of the flower beating.
Moroccan plants are small to medium sized. They start with fairly broad leaves, but when they reach sexual maturity and flowering, they develop into a pure sativa with foxtail flower structures that quickly cluster into good-sized buds. There are 2 main phenotypes that differ in structure. The most common phenotype grows very columnar and tall, while the second phenotype is smaller, shorter and more branched.
This variety is grown in its native country at a very high plant density with very little fertiliser and water, which means that it has developed excellent resistance to heat and drought and performs perfectly with little care and low levels of nutrients, making it an ideal variety for outdoor guerrilla cultivation in hot and dry climates.
Morocco is the largest producer of hashish in the world. Its famous hashish is the most exported, especially to Europe. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the 21st century, Morocco has seen a massive introduction of foreign indoor genetics from Europe and North America to increase hashish production and potency.
While this has been successful in certain farms where these foreign genetics are grown with greater care, the genetic contamination has also caused Moroccan hashish to gradually lose its characteristic psychoactivity and its characteristic "golden" and soft terpenes that made Moroccan hashish a worldwide reference in the 20th century cannabis scene.
Some Moroccan growers have now realised that these new foreign varieties require much more care, water and fertiliser, are harvested much later than the traditional Moroccan varieties and do not have the same resistance to heat and pests outdoors. The old Moroccan varieties are still best suited for growing on large, remote plots with poor irrigation resources that cannot be maintained with as much care.
For this reason, a group of old-school Moroccan breeders have offered us traditional Moroccan seeds for propagation and conservation before the unstoppable genetic contamination completely wipes out the old Moroccan varieties in their original state.
As a result of this conservation work, ACE Seeds offers you this mythical hashish plant in its purest original form.
The growth of Moroccan Beldia Kif
It is particularly recommended for outdoor cultivation in hot and dry climates, as it copes very well with heat and drought in its country of origin. Outdoors and due to its semi-autoflowering tendencies, it is recommended to start it in large pots to maximise its growth before the flowering phase and increase the proportion of female plants.
This plant is a landrace that is not yet fully adapted to the stable photoperiods and artificial lights of indoor growing, and although it can be grown indoors without problems, it is recommended not to overwater or fertilise it.
To keep the parental plants indoors in the mother room, we recommend long photoperiods (20/4 or higher) and the use of large pots that do not restrict the root space, otherwise it may start to flower in the mother room due to its semi-autoflowering tendencies.
Excellent breeding tool for producing semi-autoflowering hybrids for outdoor cultivation, with fast flowering and high resistance to heat and drought.
The effect of Moroccan Beldia Kif
It has a light potency, with a cerebral and physically sensual onset that heightens and distorts perceptions. Its unfolding promotes introspection and the inner life. It ends with a pleasant relaxation and sedation that evokes the classic "lavish" face and red eyes of a good Moroccan hash.
Its terpene profile contains mainly the following monoterpenes: high amounts of alpha-pinene and beta-myrcene, followed by beta-pinene in smaller amounts. Sesquiterpenes: mainly beta-caryophyllene (2/3) and smaller amounts of alpha-humulene (1/3).
Smell and flavour of Moroccan Beldia Kif
