Fruity Auto by Seeds66 is one of those autoflowering strains that you instantly einordnen kannst: compact to medium sized, very easy to handle and carrying a clearly sweet, fruity aroma that already shines while you trim. The line is based on a Lowryder #2 x Grapefruit cross and is built for growers who want a quick, reliable harvest and a friendly, manageable effect instead of a heavy knockout.

Origin & Seeds66 selection
Fruity Auto goes back to a cross of Lowryder #2 and a selected Grapefruit line. Lowryder provides the autoflowering trait, compact structure and short overall life cycle, while the Grapefruit side brings in the bright, sweet fruit profile and an uplifting twist to the effect. The result is an auto that feels clearly fruit driven, rather than just a slightly sweet Lowryder hybrid.
For the Seeds66 version we favoured phenotypes with a dominant main cola, solid side branches and an open structure that allows light to reach deep into the plant. The goal was a line that feels like a small, tidy hybrid rather than a miniature bonsai. Only after Fruity Auto repeatedly showed this behaviour in different set-ups did it make the cut as a Seeds66 strain.
Growth & cultivation
Indoors, Fruity Auto usually stays in the 30 to 90 cm range, depending on pot size, substrate and light intensity. She tends to stack a big central cola while the side branches carry compact, well-formed buds. Thanks to her open structure she is easy to light evenly and reacts calmly to moderate feeding – a good choice if you want an autoflower that forgives the occasional small mistake.
Outdoors or in a greenhouse Fruity Auto can reach about 90 to 130 cm and performs best in a sunny, airy spot with decent soil. With a total life cycle of roughly 80 to 90 days from seed to harvest, several runs per season are possible in mild climates. Another plus: this line tolerates slightly cooler nights better than many more tropical autos, which makes her suitable for temperate regions.
Seeds66 tip: Start Fruity Auto directly in her final container – 9 to 15 litres work very well. Avoid repotting, keep the root zone slightly on the dry side in the last two weeks and gently bend the main shoots early on. This way you support the natural main cola structure and bring the sweet, grapefruit-like aroma to the foreground.
Aroma & terpenes
In the grow room Fruity Auto quickly lives up to her name: the scent clearly leans towards ripe fruit, often described as a blend of grapefruit, tropical notes and a light candy edge. Beneath that sits a soft, slightly earthy base that keeps the profile from becoming artificial or overwhelming.
Once cured, the bouquet becomes denser and many growers compare it to fruit gummies or freshly peeled citrus. On the palate the smoke stays smooth, with a sweet, fruity top note and a mild, creamy finish. Terpene-wise, most people place Fruity Auto somewhere between limonene, myrcene and gentle floral companions.
Effects
With a THC range of about 10 to 16 %, Fruity Auto is not designed as a record-breaking powerhouse – and that is exactly her charm. The effect usually starts in the head with a gentle lift, more ease and a bit of distance from daily noise, without pushing you into an intense, racy high.
Shortly after, a soft body relaxation sets in, smoothing out tension but leaving you able to move and think clearly. Many people reach for Fruity Auto in the late afternoon or evening, when they want to wind down without being glued to the couch. For very high tolerances or marathon sessions she is less ideal; as a controllable, everyday companion she shines.
Seeds66 approach
For us at Seeds66, Fruity Auto represents a strain that is deliberately tuned for everyday usability rather than extreme numbers. We care more about solid germination, stable behaviour and reproducible results in different environments than about chasing a single spectacular run.
Our internal tests and documentation in California help us identify precisely these kinds of lines: strains that you can plan with, that keep their character over time and that still feel fun after several cycles. Only autos like Fruity that hold this profile over the long term earn a permanent spot in the Seeds66 range.
