When it first came on the market, the Big Bud was greeted by both breeders and smokers with open hands. It was first cultivated in the USA in the 1980s. In 1989, the Big Bud won first prize in the "Mostly Indica" category of the High Times Cannabis Cup. It is still an icon among cannabis strains among cannabis connoisseurs.
Big Bud is a mixture of the indica legends, Afghani and Skunk. Your offspring are the epitome of relaxation and have a high THC content that triggers the "couch lock effect". Needless to say, this potent plant is best suited for occasional consumption.
This versatile and robust plant thrives well in any setup. It doesn't need a lot of attention, but it offers a more than generous harvest. Of course she prefers it indoors, but she also enjoys outdoors in a sunny climate. As its name suggests, Big Bud delivers a plentiful yield of huge fat buds. Such a fertile beauty is sought by every commercial grower. As soon as it blooms, sticky trichomes cover its large buds. Then it almost looks as if it would burst. Resinous, thick and sticky ... that's how it should be.
The Big Bud has sturdy branches. However, due to the high weight of the large colas, they can still bend and break. Therefore, it is sometimes necessary to stabilize them with suitable material to ensure that the plant continues to thrive. Experienced growers cultivate this variety indoors using a hydro system using the SOG method. But it also produces impressive yields on earth. The flowering period lasts 8 - 9 weeks. The expected yield for hydro systems is 600 grams per square meter or more.
It also cuts a fine figure outdoors and can reach heights of up to 150 cm. The Big Bud can produce up to 700 grams per plant outdoors. In Central Europe, the harvest takes place from mid to late September. The THC content is around 19 - 24%.
This variety smells good, but tastes even better. Suffice it to say that you will appreciate the sweet and spicy taste with a fruity undertone that lingers in your mouth and breath. Once lit, a dash of earthy herbal and pepper-like spice scent immediately fills the room. As soon as the smoke begins to fade, it leaves a faint, pleasantly fruity smell.
The Big Bud develops a gentle smoke with a balanced high. After exhaling, it leaves a hint of spice on the tongue. Overall, the aftertaste is a mixture of sweet and spicy with a pronounced fruity taste.
It is known for its calming effects and ends the day with a calm and relaxing mood.
